Hello,

I have been betting online sports for about 3 months or so. I started out with $65 at matchbook and am now upto about $200. Here is my system.

I use units of $1. I take a piece of paper and write down the picks of about 10-20 cappers a day. All these cappers are from therx or covers. I also use some of the paid cappers that BookieBuster has been posting. All of the cappers how positive records in the sport I am betting. (baseball right now) I then go through the schedual and circle each team that each capper picked. (if they made a pick on that game)

Say the Cubs and Braves are playing.

If 3 winning cappers picked the Braves and none pick the Cubs, I put 3 units on the Braves.

If 5 cappers pick the Braves, none pick the cubs, I put $5 units on the Braves.

If 5 cappers pick the Braves, and 1 pick the Cubs I would put 3 units on them.

If 3 cappers pick the Braves and 1 pick the cubs I dont bet the game.

If there is only 1 or 2 cappers that bet the game I dont bet the game.

This system has worked so far. These last few weeks have been pretty bad though. However when I look at individual cappers that I follow they have mostly have been winning.

This leads to my question. Should I pick just a few of the best cappers I follow and follow their plays every every day? This would take less time and may be (?) more effective.

However I feel that if many good cappers agree their must be value and a good chance of winning. If many of them dissaggree their must be little value.

Anyone have any thoughts on ways to tweek the system?

Thanks for your help and/or comments!!!

O, and a big thanx to Bookie Buster, SDS, Boxslayer, Tommarrows Newspaper, Choptalk, and all the others I have been following!

Your money management is awesome. Thats the key. If you somehow end the season at lets say $400 or $500, dont make the mistake of withdrawing the money unless you really need it.

Next season when your staring bankroll is higher you can raise your dollar per unit alittle higher(not much) just a little bit more. You do this every single year and before you know it, you will be betting over 2 or 3 hundred per game without even risking more than 1% of your bankroll.

This is a long process, it takes 7 or 8 years to develop a quality bankroll at the levels that you started with. I think I started with $400 9 years ago. My bankroll is over 50x more than that now, and I have never made a deposit into a sportsbook using my own money in almost 10 years.

It all started with my humble beginings with $5 buck a unit. A big play for me back in the day was $15 bucks. Slowly but surely that number starting going from $5 a unit to $10, $25, $30, $40, $50, all the way to $100 per unit which I am at today.

As far as your other question, I need more info.

How many cappers are you using this system with?
Do you take unit size into account, or do you just count a play on the BRAVES a play on the BRAVES no matter how strong or weak the play is to the capper?

Thanx for replying Choptalk

Hey Choptalk!

I do not plan on withdrawing my winnings. I started out betting on basketball a few months ago. Just following good cappers. I am now betting baseball due to the fact its all that is in season. I will find out who the good football cappers are when the time comes. I would like to keep building the bankroll year round.

As for your questions.

Today I used:

8 cappers from Covers.
5 cappers from Therx.
4 cappers from the posted service plays Bookie Buster posts.

Usually I just count a play on "the Braves" as a play on the Braves, however if the good capper has a "play of the Day" or has a larger than normal play I put a * by the play on my play sheet. Therefore when I am counting up who bet on the Braves I will count that bet as 2 picks. (the same as if 2 of the cappers picked it) Therefor it often ads a unit ($1) to my bet.

Another example: I follow Brandon Lang on the service plays Bookie Buster posts. I usually put a * on his top play for the day. His 25 and 50 dime plays are usually very solid.

Oh and another thing.......

I am beggining to think I need to make more bets. Based on the number of cappers I followed today (17) I made 5 bets with a total of $16 (units). I feel that if I am making bets with positive value, then the more bets I make the faster my bankroll will grow.

There are a few different ways I have thought to do this.

1) Easing up on the requirements of the system. Make bets with less cappers making the pick. Example: if 2 cappers pick the bet, and no one picks against it, put a unit on it. Right now i require 3 cappers for a bet.

2) another way I could make more bets is to bet over/unders more often. As you could prolly guess, out of 15-20 cappers I do not get many that aggree on a specific over/under. Right now I bet 3 units on a over/under if 2 of my cappers agree on it. Take for example today. You made a bet today on Oakland Under 9. No one else had a bet on that game. Mabye I should put a unit on over/unders if one of my cappers bet on that game.

3) I could keep betting my system AND try to follow a capper or 2 as well. But them I would run into conflicting bets against other betters, therefor somewhat spoiling the system.

ALSO: Do Cappers such as yourself who make their own bets follow other cappers to build their bankroll? When you have $20,000 to work with that could make alot of extra income!

I think thats it! Thanx for replying Choptalk!

Sounds like its working well for you, the only thing I would look at is try taking just the top 6 or 10 'cappers in the standings, and see if this would increase your return. OR, if you still want to consider the top 20, maybe play 7.5 units on a game with a consensus of 5 vs. 0.....(using your hypothetical Braves vs. Cubs game).

If you did change, however, I would also reduce the small unit plays by 25%.

But your return so far is great, so any changes you are considering, should be mapped out on paper for a while first. Id suggest 30 days.

Best of luck!
